Karah Kemmerly is a queer poet and fiber artist who grew up in the California Central Valley. In her work, she draws inspiration from plants, the sea, fungi, insects, horror movies, tarot, and Robert Pattinson. Her poems appear in gigantic sequinsRedivider, and Breakwater Review, and her debut chapbook, warm-blooded, is forthcoming with Ethel in Fall 2023. In addition to making poems and poetry comics, she enjoys experimenting with embroidery, weaving, watercolors, and natural dyes. She lives in Portland, Oregon, where she teaches writing at Portland Community College, works as an assistant editor with YesYes Books, and makes zines through Conjunction Press.
